| RE: Rosewood Credenza with Exposed Hinges | 1 Relevance | 5 years ago | mark737 | Identification | |
| This one (on 1stDibs) was listed as by directional but didn't show a tag or mark. Has same base, pulls and drawer construction. I also came across a few pieces attributed to Roger Rougier with the same pulls, door and drawer design, and exposed hinges, but with chrome bases. . Attachment: dir.jpg | |||||
| Is my Hermann Miller EA117 authentic? | 1 Relevance | 5 years ago | eiskorn | General discussion | |
| Hello everybody, this is my first post on this Forum after I tried to find a good guide to differentiate Fake Hermann-Miller / Vitra Alu-Chairs from authentic ones. I didn't really succeed in finding a good source, so I decided to ask public on this forum. I recently picked up a beaten up blue hopsack Chair in very poor condition. I cleaned the chair as best as I could. The Chair has some sings on it, that might be indicators that this chair is actually authentic, but it has other features that make me scratch my head. I will attach some Photos to this pos ... | |||||
| Need help identifying the designer of a Søren Willadsen Table | 1 Relevance | 5 years ago | Mkdesign | Identification | |
| Hello everyone, I recently purchased a beautiful dining table produced by Søren Willadsen in Denmark. I‘d love to know who designed it and would be really thankful for any other information about the piece. Especially the oval legs kind of look like the ones of a couple other tables/chairs designed by Kai Lyngefeldt Larsen but I didn‘t yet find any similar tables or proof online. Edit: It can be elongated with another wooden part that is put in the middle. The whole table is build from solid teak. I can upload more pictures if necessary. Lookin forward to a ... | |||||

| Posted by: tktoo2 Tuning pegs? Those pulls and beveled-edge door and drawer fronts are pretty distinctive. Not sure about the base. Looks like it could be walnut. Magnetic door catches suggest American. Here's a closeup of the side panel, I thought for sure it was rosewood. The thinness and contrast of the grain makes me think it's rosewood but you could be right about it being walnut. You are right about the tuning pegs, I didn't even think about that. I wonder if these are actual tuning pegs or pulls designed to look like tuning pegs. [img] [/img] | |||||

| I recently sold a not dissimilar one that had those same pulls (which I replaced as I didn't care for them). My buffet was walnut and also unmarked and I was pretty sure it was American. Attachment: Danish-Modern-Walnut-Buffet.jpg | |||||

It looks like it's the same design as mine, which we now know it's by Kip Stewart for directional. Thanks! | |||||

| Thanks for checking, much appreciated. I have seen only a few Arne Vodder designs that didn’t have the “bow tie”drawer fronts. Someone is selling one the same as mine and saying Arne Vodder (see attached) but I would never say something is ...... design without a makers mark or evidence so I’ll keep researching, thanks to everyone who looked. | RE: Is there a reliable source for Moller tables? | 1 Relevance | 5 years ago | Herringbone | Identification | |
| @cdsilva In the case of Jalk and Jeppesen, Jeppesen wasn’t the employer. Hovmand Olsen worked at J.L. Møller‘s factory, if I get it right. Grete Jalk didn’t. If the plates on the cart state that Jalk was the designer, I would take that as the most relevant „documentation“. But of course it’s interesting that the catalogs give a wrong information. | |||||

| ... evaluation is feuling this concern over the amount of money you received for the chair, perhaps it's worth reiterating why we don't talk about money here. It's because valuations are entirely fallible, and the actual value of any piece of design is what someone/many people are willing to pay for it on the day. It does not appear she was lying about knowing whether or not it's genuine. She bought it first and then posted it here to check with people who may know about the double triangle logo. And as for the representation of a private sale as a "garage sale ... | |||||
| PH Table Lamp - Push Thru Switch | 1 Relevance | 5 years ago | KCAJ | Repair | |
| ... integral / integrated part of the switch housing? In this case it's a bakelite switch housing. If possible to replace, does anyone have a source of replacements? I didn't find any by googling. Worst case is I could just keep a switch on the cord or even change to a push button style switch (prefer not to). If anyone owns a PH table lamp with a bakelite switch housing (push thru style) and would be able to send me some high res pictures of the bottom it would be highly appreciated. Thanks | |||||
| Eames DCM Shock Mounts | 1 Relevance | 5 years ago | tktoo2 | Repair | |
| I'm having an ongoing issue with shock mounts popping off a set of DCMs I purchased new over 20 years ago. I didn't get satisfactory responses from either HM or the authorized retailer I purchased them from when this started happening a little after a year from date of purchase. The mounts came off clean and in good condition otherwise, so I re-glued them into place following recommended protocol using a few different epoxy products. All of the 12 I've re-glued over the years have held securely ...until a couple of days ago when the back of a chair that I ha ... | |||||

| Funny, I searched and did't find anything and now searched again and found those listings.. don't know why I didn't see them the first time. I was thinking Brown-Saltman as it has a John Keal vibe and they liked the modular stuff a lot too (they also did a bunch with Martin Borenstein) I probably had a spelling typo when I searched, amazing what a little error changes in results. | |||||
