I have 5 nice heavy framed lawn chairs that were rather expensive. They are in great shape except for one issue. They have a vary fine mesh backing and seat material. The backs are in excellent shape, but the seat material is starting to split right along the side frame where the material seems to go into the top of the frame, out the bottom side, and wrap around the frame before going across to the other side.  These are NOT the old fashioned lawn chairs of years ago. The seat and backing material is a synthetic, (one piece for the seat and one for the back), tightly woven heavier mesh, similar to a heavy duty sun shade you’d pull down to shade out the sun. Hoping To fix these where they can be used again, and wondering if it is possible to take similar material, precut and sewn into the same size to fit across the top of the seat to include both side seat frame supports, and glue it on top of the current failing seat material, attaching it not only to the old mesh but also the frame itself where the new material wraps around the side frame supports to help support the new seat mesh????  Has anyone had any experience with this issue???  Thanking you in advance for any help you may be able to give!!!

@stevenga777 please try and post a picture smaller than 2mb. You can just edit your post and add the picture.

@stevenga777

As with seemingly everything these days, there's a YouTube video for that. Or, more accurately, many demonstrating repair of patio chairs with sling seats and backs. Here is just one:

Good luck!
