Similar chairs are typically described as tub or barrel-back chairs. Many designers, such as Pierre Pauline and Vladimir Kagan did chairs in this style. This is one by Massimo Vignelli for Sunar and was listed as a "club lounge" chair. I did not see your chair doing some quick image searching. In what part of the world was it found? Any marks or tags, or idea how old it might be?
I bought them at an estate sale in NYC.
They’re sturdy, well made. Steel on the bottom but the casters are plastic if that’s any indication of age. they have a lovely almost textured black fabric (Wool?) that has made a comeback in popularity in recent years. I’ve tried to look back on chairs from those designers but, no luck. No marks, no tags. Thanks for the input !
