| A couple of you have been curious about Designed for Moderns, later called New dimensions Furniture. That was my father's business ? his name was Archie Kaplan, and he and Sol Bloom did most of the designing. Designed for Moderns existed between (roughly) 1951 and 1954. They mostly made small pieces (candlesticks, baskets, and the best-known piece, the catch-it-all) mostly made of metal. This is the catalog, an 8 by 3.5 inch accordian fold brochure ? but the catalog doesn't include everything. I also have product sheets and photos, and I'll post more so ... | |||||

| Hello, Once again I have found a France & Son piece that I cannot find in these particular dimensions . This is an absolutely stunning, massive solid teak table by Finn Juhl marked with the France and Son medallion. From the 500 series I think? I can find other tables but not with the dimensions of 21 inches Height/69 inches Length/ and 23.5 inches in Width. I am wondering if anyone has seen this in a catalog or in person? It is really big. I am also curious if it was meant to be a massive coffee table or perhaps a short sofa table? Any info/comments ... | |||||

| Can anyone tell me the dimensions (width at bottom and height) of the base on the Knoll Saarinen Tulip tables? I have been searching the web, but is it not stated anywhere? | I am wondering if you, fellow DesignAddicts, can help me authenticate this table I am about to purchase. More information as in dimensions and etc will follow. I am unable to get more photos other than this one, since the seller say his table is in a storage warehouse and he won't be able to be back until few weeks later. | I am thinking about purchasing a coconut chair from a friend of a friend. Unfortunately, given the dimensions of the chair when fully constructed, it cannot normally be shipped using standard UPS. So, I am wondering whether it is possible to remove the legs since the shell, without the legs, fits within UPS's parameters. Alternately, does anybody have a low-cost furniture / freight mover to suggest. The chair is not in great shape, it needs full reupholstery, etc., so I don't have to worry about it being treated like a museum piece. Thanks | |||||

| I recently acquired a set of Vodder dressers, as in the pics, but with non-original bases. I want to have new bases made, as close to the original look as possible.What wood species would anyone suggest (presuming teak won't be possible)? | Dear All,I am planning to purchase an Eames Storage Unit (ESU) 4 units high x 2 units wide. Unfortunately the ESU will be delivered fully assembled. Once I have received it I want to ship it to another place. Therefor I need to disassemble it. Reason: flat-packed the ESU will have less volume which will save me shipping costs and which will reduce the risk of damaging. | would really appreciate some help... looking for a dining table, approx length 215-230cm / 90-100cm wide... this to go with 6 , 1956 ch_20 wegner chairs in soaped ash and to sit on a white oiled wooden floor... ideal would be wegner 1962 ch_327 , but is too long , any thoughts of who else makes soaped ash , or white oiled , or very light wooden tables or a similar design in these dimensions? | |||||
