Oswald Haerdl, one of the most important Austrian Architects of the 20th Century designed this iconic chair labelled ‘No. 1515’ in 1955. Haerdl was a master of proportions. Like his architecture, there is a total focus on every detail, the materiality as well as the overall design concept. In this piece, he created an expressive design form with a minimalist language: the solid beech and bent plywood is a continuous form that acts as both the backrest and the armrests simultaneously, with minimal fixings hidden within the plywood. These details make this piece a truly iconic chair for all ages. This piece is in original vintage condition with a patina acquired over the years.
