On this chair he created an expressive design form whilst using a minimalist language. Like his architecture, there is a total focus on every detail, for example the hidden screws on the back rest, using the old Thonet bentwood technique and the materiality in the honey colour and patina of the beech.. This all makes this chair as modern and attractive as it was 60 years ago. Both chairs are in good vintage condition with some patina gained over the years, they look almost identical but one chair has got slightly darker wood (mainly on the seat). In a recent restoration, the original damaged varnished was removed by hand and replaced by an Nitro varnish in order to achieve a fresher look of honey coloured beech together with a greater gloss finish.
