| No clue but maybe a lead Sorry, as I live in Europe, I have no clue. A little search tells me that there are some in cleveland forest. So maybe the nearest sawmill... Also, the here this society based in San diego that document and promote the use of Black Locust. Maybe you should ask them. Anyway, I guess the link might be interesting for our friends woodworkers on the forum. http://www.asla.org/uploadedFiles/CMS/Business_Quarterly/ASLA_Black_Locu... | |||||

| Left side of the Atlantic Countertops were purchased in San diego. Might be that they've starting oiling them due to warping. But the ones I got we're perfectly flat and have stayed that way in spite of all sorts of mistreatment. | |||||

| ... were many little workshops who could produce beautiful work but at tiny volume and comparatively expensive. There were not many shops who could produce high quality and high volume and reasonable prices. Søren Willadsen was one. Many furniture makers whose names you would recognize apprenticed there (Poul Hundevad, Ejnar Pedersen who ran PP Møbler, Henry Rolschau, etc). Because of this, he did not need to advertise much to get business. And the old standard for how the business worked involved having a salesman with photos of your product who would go ... | |||||

| @mark737 @lexi @herringbone @nolacurbgirl @redbaobab Hi all, Just thought I’d give you an update about my dad and the roll top desk. My dad unexpectedly passed away in July last year but I did get to ask him about the desk before he died. He said he did not make it and that he had never made roll top desks. And he had no idea how his name got associated with it. I can tell you that he was really surprised and very proud that his name had been mentioned in a forum such as this. And especially that his furniture, after all these years ,was still being ap ... | |||||

Stuart died in 1966 and his family sold their majority interest in the company in 1969. The Widdicomb Furniture Company, by the way, was a separate company started by John Widdicomb's father. Known for their modern lines by designers like Nakashima and Robsjohn-Gibbings, Widdicomb Furniture was eventually purchased by the John Widdicomb Co in 1970, and since 2002 has been part of Stickley. There's an expensive, larger-scale (and upscale) upholstery place very local to me ("Classic Design") - I might ask if they have examples or samples (and if they're helpful I would repay them for the research with my business, we'll see). It would save me a trip to San diego as I'm in the LA area. http://www.classicdesignla.com/

| ... of his time, I think it's fair to say that much. I have not been able to find any life data or the like from him so far. But there are at least hints about who he was and what his relationship was to Erhardsen and Andersen. The starting point of the research is that the designs for Erhardsen and Andersen, Nykoebing, were drawn in the 1960s. Erhardsen and Andersen is also the only company with which Aage Christiansen is associated. There may be several reasons for this, but I have actually found evidence for one. It can be assumed that Aage Christiansen was ... | |||||

It's quite similar to yours but it's an armchair. You find pictures of them in the Danish furniture index (google it). My guess is, that your chairs are from the same series, designed around 1985 by one of Niels Otto Moeller's sons (because he died in 1982). Since at that time the company just counted the model numbers in chronological order, the model number of your chair could be 87 (just a very wild guess).

| I had one done in San diego and it was right about 700 plus fabric (had my own so I saved money). These chairs take a lot more fabric than you might think. Only have someone do it if they have done one before. Pay a little extra and get it done correctly. To answer your question, 700-800 isn't to much to pay if its done correctly. Where do you live? | |||||
