| RE: Madsen and Schubell | 1 Relevance | 7 years ago | Herringbone | General discussion | |
| Checked everything I could find. I know Arnold Madsen's birthday now (not the day of his death, but I strongly doubt that he is still among us. He would be 112), I know when Ib Madsen was born and when and where he died. But the obituary you can find online doesn't list many relatives. Theres only one name on it, and that didn't really help. | |||||

Only one chair out of all of them has the Andover sticker on it. Thank you for the reply didn't dig deep enough to hear about Davis Allen, appreciate it!

| ... Was pretty certain of it but don’t want to look foolish by posting incorrect info. You are correct, it’s the “majic box” and does have the blue enameled box head swing arm lamp. didn’t see a stamp on this one. I had two in teak many years back. The grain on this one is killer. I’ll post some pics of it opened up a bit later. with the revamp of the site a while back I had to edit my screen name from the original “jdip”. I don’t see many of the regulars screen names from 7+ years back when surfing the forum. thanks again! | |||||

But since Sigvard Bernadotte was a member of the Swedish Royal Family, it was natural that he would have one. The wood must be teak. At the time, the chair was produced, France and Son didn't use any other wood (as far as I know). And: The mail you wrote was in vain. France and Son was sold to Povl Cadovious around 1965, the company was renamed Cado around 1968 and stopped production around 1980. The company that n ...

| Hi Sasalele, I wanted to learn more about this table, because I didn't really believe it was by Strässle as advertised on the website I found. I did a little more research myself and found one more source saying it would be by Werner Linder for Bacher. FYI: https://www.pamono.eu/model-2088-chrome-glass-coffee-table-by-werner-linder-for-bacher-1970s | |||||

| Nordisk Andels Eksport was a cooperative as well the purpose of which was export, which is all in the name. And yes, the logo in the bottom right must be Vitré. Cooperative organizations like this were good for getting maker information since they didn’t hide it like many retailers did. This is a bit off topic but in the list of early makers for FDB, Aage Hundevad is Hundevad and Co. I am not immediately certain who Søren Rasmussen or O. Strøjer are. | |||||

| Hi Lexi I'll take some images of the brochure tonight as it has what appears to be stamps from the dealer and what look like handwritten prices. (I took the brochure post item as I didn't want it to go missing in delivery). And the label on the back on Tuesday. It's been painted only on the exterior as you can see but that's not difficult to remove. I purchased it in Canberra Australia today. I only asked f people were still interested as I have posted over the last year and it seemed to be deserted not like it once was when I joined in 2010. Regards W | |||||

| This listing has them as model #11 but I didn't see much to confirm this. And I wouldnt put any stock in their asking price. Look on sites like liveauctioneers or ebay for actual sold prices of similar chairs. https://www.1stdibs.com/furniture/seating/dining-room-chairs/set-of-six-thonet-bentwood-fauteuil-no-11-dining-chairs/id-f_14541752/ | |||||

| John removed the plaster and lath from the bent wall that separates the living room and kitchen, and is taking out some of the studs, one by one. The building owner has seen the result and didn't comment (!). One more to go, leaving only the one supporting the corner of the desk/buffet. So "San Francisco" ? Attachment: JBdesk4.jpg | |||||

| I don't think niceguy ever got banned, I think he just finally left on his own. I asked the previous forum owners if they had the ability to block specific IP addresses and they said that they didn't. I was surprised NG finally gave up. He was very, very persistent! I remember that Mark once said that his real name was Park. Who knows if he was kidding, though. | |||||

| Thanks, tktoo. (Hey---didn't have to sign in or anything, this morning ! Special Covid 19 dispensation ?) Things are quiet on the streets here, but far from dead. I'm going to work today at a private residence---we're doing another kitchen. I'll get breakfast at the usual place, but for take-out only. But they still have a couple of tables on the sidewalk; maybe I'll get a seat. With my new swell phone, I may be able to post from there. The less said about the Blackwood, the better. Made for only one year . . . wonder how many were sold ? You guys stay ... | |||||

| Helloooooo, SDR! I was hoping you'd come back. Now if Mark would just show up! I hope he's ok. I've been busy with various stuff and just got out of the habit of checking in here. I got pretty aggravated with management there for awhile. Oh well. Life goes on. I did think of you all when I got a Dansk Rare Woods ice bucket (wenge--the one that looks like a Three Mile Island reactor) a couple weeks ago for $5---missing the lid and with a 1/8" split between the staves on one side and a slightly narrower one on the opposite side. Plus another one that's ... | |||||
