| These commercial photos are indeed disappointing | 2 Relevance | 16 years ago | Gustaf | General discussion | |
| These commercial photos are indeed disappointing but it is probably/hopefully too early to draw any conclusions on the finish until we see other pics. I found one on the Herman Miller blog, taken at the ICFF, see the first image below. It's a bad shot, but at least I think they look less artifical there. As for the pulls, the second image is from an old Treadway auction. I don't know if the pulls are original, but at least it seems as if there were other options than the top mounted pulls in Lunchbox's picture, or there would have been marks from them? | A disarded water kettle designed by Michael Lax in 1962 for Copco. The auction buyer of the contents of a storage facility only took the largest & the shiniest objects & left everything that had collected decades of dust. The Chemex was also found in the rejects pile. https://www.moma.org/collection/works/1847 | |||||
| Disassambling Moller Chair #75 | 2 Relevance | 6 years ago | Browkin | Repair | |
| Hi folks, working currently on some moller chairs, no 75. The left leg on one chair was damaged by a dog bites and I would like to change that leg. Fortunately, I have another broken chair that I could use the leg of. Never disassambled a chair before. Do I need for this just a hot air gun and a rubber mallet? Is there anything else I should take into consideration? Many thanks for your help. | |||||

| I'm sure that @leif-ericson knows about these. It's possible (if not probable) that the seat rail tenons interlock inside the legs determining proper order of assembly/disassembly. I think there were photos posted in a past thread on the topic if you can find it in the archive. Steady but gentle heat, steam, hot water, rubber mallet are all helpful. | |||||

| Thank you very much. Sounds more complicated than I thought. But since all moller chairs I have had had surprisingly stable chair frames despite they were 50-60 year old, I expected disassambling this will be not easy. I'll give it a try and see how far I can get. Will try not to split any legs. | |||||

| Hey guys, it is irresponsible to advise someone to disassemble a chair - moreover with non-professional advices - if he has never done it before! @Browkin, it is highly recommended not to disassemble the chair! You risk completely damaging the chair if you've never done this before. It's real craftsmanship, you can't just do it incidentally if you have no idea about it. cdsilva's suggestion is the best solution. You can get a very good result with his proposal. | |||||

It is entirely slot together and when complete stands rock solid. Not a movement sideways! The shelves have a shamferred front edge while the back is raised so you dont push books off / right though. There are absolutely no makers marks or any other indications of manufacture (no where to hide them) Bought in Denmark and given me head aches ever since trying to find it as it is so well thought out as not to be home mad ... | |||||
| Finn Juhl 137 chair seat disassembly question | 2 Relevance | 16 years ago | Modern Love | General discussion | |
| I need disassemble and ship a Finn Juhl 137 "japan chair". disassembling the frame was quite easy, but I am left with the seat. The seat "appears" to be 2 panels joined together, but I don't know how they are joined as it is hidden under the upholstery. I assumed it was a tongue and groove sort of connection, but the panels don't budge when I try to pull them apart. Are there some hidden screws, or do I just need to be more forceful? | |||||
| IKEA SKRUVSTA Swivel Chair- How to disassemble? | 2 Relevance | 17 years ago | Tammy819 | General discussion | |
| Like the other posts, I cannot figure out how to remove the seat from the post on which this chair sits/swivels. I need to return the SEAT part to the store, and customer service (on the phone) has no idea how to disassemble this product. Merely pulling on it is not working. Does anybody know? Thanks. | |||||

| disassemble tulip armchair | 2 Relevance | 16 years ago | afshar | General discussion | |
| hello I've read several threads about this subject on the forum. however I can't seem to find how to disassemble mine. the reason why I want to take it apart is because it's sitting very loose on the aluminium base. as you can see in the picture it's missing some screws. In the picture there are 3 screws still in place, but recently another one came loose and now it's very risky to sit on. I've read about a c-clamp or spring clips that needs to be removed to separate the base from the seat. however when I look at mine I see a black rubber ring that's around ... | |||||
