| Saarinen-Style Dining Table ID Help | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | ploam | Identification | |
| ... give it a creamy white powder coat. The table came from a law firm where it had its original top replaced along the way with some horrid laminate top. I think they may have painted the base black too. To my eye, the base matches some older tulip-style dining tables. The form of the stem seems correct for Saarinen, but it has no outright identifying marks. Base Fast Facts: It's very heavy It's magnetic It threads onto a wooden mounting plate with six screws The base has a relatively flat metal bottom The top of the base appears to have a handwritten date of ... | |||||
| Help identifying maker? - Vintage round expanding teak dining table | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | rescuev | Identification | |
| Hi everyone, Hoping to trouble you for some help identifying this round, expanding, teak dining room table. There are no brand markings we've been able to find, but there are some numbers imprinted on the bottom of the tabletop. The tabletop itself appears to be MDF with teak veneer, while the pedestal legs and table leaf appear to be solid teak. Including a photo of the table from the top. Any idea who the maker might be? Thank you so much in advance! Attachment: IMG_8111.jpg Attachment: IMG_8129.jpg Attachment: IMG_8112.jpg | |||||
| Help identifying maker ~Hans Olsen 'roundette' dining table & chairs or design copy? | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | Hava Goodlife | Identification | |
| Hi all , another newb here I wonder if anyone might be able to help identify this dining table & chairs set. It's advertised as Hans olsen it is very similar in style to the set by Hans Olsen for Frem Røjle but the chair & table legs are a bit straighter and the chair backs different. Thoughts & comments very welcome on whether this is genuine style variance or just a design copy. Thanks Attachment: rounette.jpg Attachment: crop.jpg | |||||
| RE: Saarinen dining table question. | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | kaimaitai | General discussion | |
| Hi I have seen a variety of markings in the last years. Very old tables had a Knoll paper label under the plate which might disappear through the years. Most bases have a knoll signature pressed in the metal under the base. As well I have seen a danish licensed 70s Base which was only labeled by sticker. All newer tables have a signature plate under the plate and the base. | |||||

| RE: Danish Mid Century Modern Teak dining chairs - Moller? Sideboard? | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | cdsilva | Identification | |
| There was an old thread about these chairs, whose photos probably disappeared during the format switch a few years ago. If my fading memory hasn’t failed me this time, I recall that the chairs were made in the UK, by a maker that maybe started with the letter “G”? Not G-Plan. They are not Moller. | |||||
| Danish Mid Century Modern Teak dining chairs - Moller? Sideboard? | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | Amber5 | Identification | |
| Have a chance to acquire and wondering if someone can recognize this teak dining room set: sideboard, table and chairs. The chairs are similar to Moller, but I do not think they are. Most likely they were paper cord originally. Attachment: image2.jpeg Attachment: image0.jpeg | |||||
| RE: Discoloration | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | myhomehandyman | Repair | |
| Hi, Either polish or paint with a primer coat will work. After the final coat of stain has thoroughly cured (typically overnight or 24 hours), apply polyurethane, or Tung oil. Apply at least two coats, since dining room tables get a lot of use, allowing each coat to fully cure before applying the next one. It is a small task and I hope you will be able to do it. Good Luck! | |||||
| Teak Dining Room table | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | Shplad | Identification | |
| Hi: I know nearly zero about furniture. I'm selling some of my elderly Mom's old furniture, and that includes this dining room table. An acquaintance told me that this table might be from Arne Vodder, but I have no idea how to verify that, or otherwise who might have designed it. Can anyone give me an opinion on this? It was purchased in the 1960s, or possibly early 1970s. Thanks. Attachment: DSCN2822-web-ready.jpg Attachment: DSCN2820-web-ready.jpg | |||||

| @shplad. Welcome to the Forum. Based on the 2 images you posted it could possibly be Arne Vodder's Model Ingrid made by Vamo. It would seem from pic 1 that there were extension leaves, possibly drop leaf ? If this is the case , do you have images of the table with the leaves attached ? This might help to confirm ( or not ) that this is indeed an Arne Vodder table. This " Ingrid "table was discussed on the Forum recently. https://designaddict.com/community/identification/danish-mid-century-modern-teak-drop-leaf-dining-table-boat-shape/ | |||||

| @shplad. First off, we do not discuss value on the Forum. Normally you can get a good idea of value from auction websites but in this case I have not found any of these tables on Google . And the only other one I have seen is the one posted in the earlier thread. Your table appears to have 3 hooks and I think the 4th one you are seeing in the black and white image is possibly a photographic glitch... it was 1957 after all.!! Really lovely table. | |||||
| Mid-Century Dining Chair Set Identification Help! | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | user_263 | Identification | |
| I just picked up a set of 6 of these Mid-Century dining Chairs and unfortunately their tags appear to have been lost/removed, most likely during a reupholstery job. Does anyone know the maker? I've definitely seen them before but can't seem to find any good leads on image searches. Attachment: IMG_0171.jpg | |||||
| RE: Teak Dining Chairs Mid Century Modern, perhaps Danish - need help to ID please | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | Herringbone | Identification | |
| @mark737, @fredhh, I found some more info for those of you who really want to dive deep into the history: The factory was opened in 1938 in Aarhus by Brdr. Tromborg. Holger Vestervig Eriksen, son of a teacher, was trained there from 1948 to 1952 and took it over in 1957. In 1966 he moved it to a new factory buildung in Lystrup, the one Mark mentioned. Lystrup is also on the written on the stamp. The company was specialized in dining chairs. Eftf. is short for Efterfolger | |||||
