Pair of 1920’s Bedside tables

There were many variations of this popular piece of furniture; it was an essential item for every stylish bedroom of the time. This set is particularly interesting due to the different but complimentary design of the individual pieces. Designed to work together as a pair, they each have a combination of drawers, open shelving and a table top. The asymmetrical design works so successfully because of the wonderful birch veneer and it’s striking pattern that each are made from. Added to this, there is an elegance in their shape and an attention to detail making this piece a prime example of 1920’s furniture design. Both bedside tables have been recently completely refurbished to its former glory. The recent restoration of the surface has fully revived the extremely rich colour of the entire piece, showing off the beautiful patterns on all surfaces. The entire piece has been hand finished by Shellac and Nitro varnishes in order to achieve a greater gloss finish.
