| Nice Find It is one of my favorite 50s Thonet designs, although I have yet to score a set for myself. They are not particularly valuable but I like the vibe. They made a more common variation without arm rests, but I prefer your upscale model. I am a sucker for bent plywood. Classic Modern by Deborah K. dietsch has a photo where a set of six or eight of these are used as dining chairs. I believe the photo was taken in a Marcel Breuer or Raymond Lowey designed house. I don?t have a copy nearby and so I can?t be sure. Congratulations on a great find | |||||

| ... attachment to be useful in the kitchen to this day and the dietrich Lubs ET55 calculator remains handy. The Reinhold Weiss KMM 1 Aromatic coffee mill for Braun only gets use when the Saeco is not in use (it has an automatic grinder). My sister has the Alfred Gerd Müller and Robert Oberheim, Kitchen Machine KM32 from new. Amazing... They are not "sate of the art" but all in all they are all quality products for the long run. robrinay, nice chair. Congratulations. I am a Fritz Hansen fan and user (mainly the PK series). | |||||

| ... to someone who is not from Germany). The word Dutch comes from diets which was used to describe the regional language that was used in the area that is now Holland. This in other languages they renamed the it though after time. Niederlandisch in German, Naerlandais in French, Neerlandese in Italian etc. Only in English they stuck with the Dutch. Maybe they should change it to Netherlandish (?) On the other hand, maybe not... and on the third hand, who cares? We here in The Netherlands certainly don't. We even state in the text of our national anthem that we ... | |||||

| ... Taschen book is hard on the old peepers 🙁 I covet the 1000 CHAIRS but the cheapest I could find on Ebay was a guy looking for 124 GBP (or best offer). Classic modern, dietsch looks like a good buy but I can't understand why it costs 249 usd to buy it from the marketplace via amazon.co.uk and only 132usd (shipping included) from the USA ??? Question;when buying books in the US and having them sent to europe is there a customs charge on reading matter? | |||||

| Design books I enjoy I wish I had the foresight to ask the same question before I began filling my book shelves and emptying my wallet. Classic Modern: Mid-century Modern at Home by Deborah dietsch is one of my all time favorites. The photos are amazing. The houses presented are historic; and, the design esthetic is one I personally strive to achieve. However, at that price you could have several comprehensive references that might be more useful over the long term. But, if you want desert first then by all means splurge. What Modern Was: Design 1935-1965 is ... | |||||

| (Hey its been awhile difeliciantonio!) EamesJunkie, It's definitely too early to be Umanoff. Yes, kind of Rohde-like, but somehow it seems a bit less refined and less expensive than most Rohde clocks. It does look like it could possibly be early Howard Miller though. All of the above based on general impressions (rather than any actual knowledge of this period! I have a lot of Nelson clocks, but they are all later than this era.) Guessing about your clock is much easier than trying to keep up with Mark's haikus when he is rolling though... | |||||

| Thanks for sharing difeliciantonio. Really appreciate your point of view as you've obviously done some 3d printing yourself. Definitely looks interesting guys. If this technology does deliver in due time, it would definitely bring down a lot of manufacturing costs pretty much all over the world. | |||||
