| 1950s recliner chairs, Granada Spain | 1 Relevance | 7 years ago | Bellinda | Identification | |
| Hi everyone, a friend recently bought an old house in the area for refurbishing. They found these two recliner chairs in excellent condition, but didn't like them and so I received them as a gift. I was told they are rare in this condition, but I can't find images of this particular design anywhere online. Can anyone help? Attachment: 66103826_1263219647188930_2787565102319009792_n.jpg | |||||

| Picked this one up yesterday at l'Armée du Salut. I'd seen a number of these over the years but didn't know much about them. Naturally, the best info I found online was here on the forum, thanks to lexi, leif, spanky, et al. I tried to find more info on the oft-cited designer, Egon Ostergaard, but had no luck. There is a gentleman with this name who heads up the Danish Ornithological Association. Maybe he does furniture design work on the side? I tried to find some history on Bröderna Gustafssons möbelfabrik and this was all I found so far, from a Sw ... | |||||

| Reason is obviously the fact that this forum was not available for a long time, or better, it didn't work for a long time, and even the whole archive was lost. This was a real disaster for all experts, who shared their knowledge since years for nothing. Result: most of the experts disappeared. Greetings to the admin! | |||||
| RE: Paolo Piva Alando Coffee table, real or fake? | 1 Relevance | 7 years ago | mark737 | Identification | |
| Looks like one of the knockoffs. There's a lot of misleading info online from dealers about different versions being made by B&B Italia, but I was unable to find any reputable confirmation of this. And there's not much info on who made the knockoffs. I found one online that said it was made in the Netherlands but it didn't have any info on the maker. If you like the style and it's priced like a replica (under $500), then go for it. | |||||

| Thank you @tktoo2! I have never seen a genuine Noguchi table so I had no reference other than wishy washy information online! I did remeasure, it does measure up exactly but I don’t hold much store to that. Information on the stained lighter wood is invaluable, I didn’t think of that. | |||||
| RE: Kai Kristiansen attributions | 1 Relevance | 7 years ago | Herringbone | General discussion | |
| Thanks for asking 😀. didn‘t really find out anything else yet. I asked about certain pieces but haven‘t got an answer so far. Anyway, the DUX reference is great. I should ask them, last time they were really quick and helpful. The T21 you mention is a strange thing. Dealers attach this model number to two different chairs. One is model 32 by Schou Andersen. This one was designed by Kai Kristiansen without a doubt. The other one is probably the one you mean, but this one is mysterious because no one ever mentions a producer. I don‘t know who designed ... | |||||
| Bentwood Sofa with Brass Trim | 1 Relevance | 7 years ago | mark737 | Identification | |
| Any idea who designed or made this sofa I saw at an estate sale today? Sort of Adrian Pearsall meets Kodawood. The people running the sale didn't know anything about it, other than they were told it was from the 60's. That didn't stop them from putting a ridiculously high price on it. | RE: Johannes Hansen JH Wegner Chairs | 1 Relevance | 7 years ago | Herringbone | Identification | |
| ... already know. It seems that this design - which was new to me - is rare as an arm chair and even rarer as a side chair. Since it was made by Johannes Hansen, it can be considered cabinetmaker furniture which implies that you should‘t mess around with it, which of course you didn‘t intend to do. The question is: What kind of problems do you see? Are there any lose joints? Broken pieces? How is the condition of the leather? If the chairs appear to be in a good shape, you probably shouldn‘t do much at all. I can‘t really make out the type of wood. Is it teak? ... | |||||
| RE: Hans Wegner's peter's chair table | 1 Relevance | 7 years ago | Herringbone | General discussion | |
| Interesting question. Here’s what I think. Wegner made the chair for Børge Mogensen‘s son in 1944. Mogensen liked it so much, that he included it in the FDB offering. Production started in 1946/47. But at that time FDB didn’t yet have the capacities to produce their furniture on their own. They only bought Tarm stole- og møbelfabrik in 1947. Up to then they had to outsource production. Probably that is why C.M.Madsen produced Peter‘s chair and table for about a year. Then the new FDB factory took over. But times changed. Wegner‘s friend Mogensen left FDB in ... | |||||
