| Edo bed | 1 Relevance | 23 years ago | DavidDC | General discussion | |
| Edo bed Hank, I've actually seen the bed in a store that sells it here in DC. The store is called Urban Essentials. The bed is, aesthetically speaking, beautiful and very solid. didn't seen the end tables, though. The store used the Edo side tables as the end tables for the bed, and they, too, were solid. | ... type beds that had no headboards as they were placed in attic bedrooms under the eaves and couldn't fit with one. And those old beds didn't use boxsprings either, just rope and a sack full of straw! I still think that it doesn't matter stylistically if there's a headboard or not. there are many very sleek interesting and unusual beds that utilize headboards. It's a personal comfort thing, I'd say. | |||||

| ... on them. I'm a bit more concerned about the color I chose for the VicoDuo. . . . white. didn't want black, didn't want beech, maple sold out, and I wanted to be safe with my choice. Again, though, you can't beat the price for Fritz Hansen. If I was the type that cooked and ate my dinner at a table, as opposed to buying pre-cooked foods at Whole Foods/Fresh Fields (my personal chef - everyone should have one) everyday, I definitely would have gone for the Risom side chairs in maple with black webbing. Totally worth it. All I need is a sideboard and my ... | |||||

Of course, I really didn't have a choice in the fabric, but am more or less satisfied with the grey/green neutral upholstery. I think I've seen the luc sofa at Crate and Barrel as well. David

| barthes in short Barthes theory is that; form form follows meaning/denotation. For Starcks functionalism; i saw an interview with him some while ago and he was asked that some of his chairs weren't really comfortable and why he didn't designed comfortable chairs; his answer was; "they are comfortable for me..." there goes all that ergonomical studies and theory... | |||||

| Documented evidence Firstly I was only stating what I have read, which didn't state anything about the Juicy Salif blackening, just losing it shine, and if something is published by the manufacturing firm itself, you would think it would be an accurate description, which I still believe. And secondly, no I do not own a Juicy Salif nor would I want to, why would I buy a piece of design which has been documented not to work very well. I personally feel it has been so successful, in terms of number of units, for the status symbol which it has become? The only l ... | |||||

We will try to explain here why and how we are now going to use the log in. We are, of course, also attached to the freedom of expression. In our minds, the introduction of a log in was never meant to exclude anybody but was simply meant to responsibilise some posters. The first advantage of this is that it implies an automatic signature. We hope that you will all agree that if it is im ...

| I assume that Bjarne Madsen and Hans Thyge Schubell and Ib Madsen and Acton Schubell are identical. Of course I didn't find proof although I dug a little. Their business in Hvidore is only ever referred to as Madsen og Schubell snedkerie. But the furniture which is associated to all the names is basically the same. My guess: They just changed their names for whatever reasons. Maybe for marketing reasons? Fun fact: Acton is not the most comon name. Among the few known people and personae with this name is Acton Bell - which was the pseudonym of the 19th cent ... | |||||
