Re: B&B Italia alanda Bed... I happen to own this bed and was thinking of selling it. It is in MINT CONDITION, with both nightstands in Black Lacquer and Headboard and Foundation Liner in Black Supple Calfskin Leather. Everything is perfect. The bed retailed 8 years ago for $7000 (today it would probably be nearing $11,000). ~Mark O~ (212) 587-0209 home, (917) 617-0486 cell.

Paolo Piva Alada Coffee table | 2 Relevance | 7 years ago | gekkie25 | Identification
Hi product experts, My parents bought a new house recently. One object that the previous owners left caught my attention, a really nice coffee table. I wanted to place it in my house but unfortunately, it doesn't fit my living room. Therefore I put it online when someone sent me the message this table could be a real Paolo piva. Since I corrected the advertisement people offered me up to

Trying to find I.D confirmation on the web of this Paolo piva table. cannot even find an image. Could this be due to rarity or that it was very expensive or simply that it was not popular? any help gratefully received, thanks. http://s909.photobucket.com/albums/ac293/mastershipwright/Paolo%20Piva/
Based on my Alanda... | 2 Relevance | 13 years ago | NULL NULL | General discussion
Based on my alanda... I would say it is. Check the legs and, more so, the mechanisms to raise the head and arm rests to see if they have the correct ratcheting action, if so, it has to be an original. Mine was bought new years over thirty ago when I was out of university. It is in a very light gray fabric with a line texture in it: the fabric was called Alaska. I recall many very nice fabrics I was looking at since I could not afford the leather I wanted without straining my budget. I don't recall any red mohair, so I would surmise it was reupholstered, not an easy job when you look at how intricate all the panels are so that the cutting, sewing and fitting would require a good artisan. The fact it has no label is also indicative of this fact. Why red mohair I will never understand. B&B Italia, in the designs at least, pales in comparison to what it was thirty years ago. No matter how lovely the fabric I have chosen is, I still regret to this day not having spent the money on the light grey or black leather.

Hi there, I'm new to the forum and was wondering if this table is real or fake? I note the differences to the BB Italia range but wasn't sure if piva produced this design separately. (edited by DA - link removed - pictures added)

another real or fake question | 2 Relevance | 11 years ago | waldorf | General discussion
another real or fake question yesterday i found this Paolo piva ? alanda coffee table. The measures looks good 120cm x 120cm x 26cm (25,7cm) , the glass is 12mm, roundet in the edge with a little chamfer and green cast. The feeds are round steel, ca 1,5 cm diameter, with a smaller plastic slide. Looks good to me, but i`m not sure?...?? Thanks for thoughts!
Paolo Piva sideboard? | 2 Relevance | 8 years ago | Tom39 | Identification
Hi, I've just acquired this sideboard from a guy in Switzerland. It's supposed to be B&B Italia by Paolo piva. He had a whole load of other furniture that had B&B Italia stamps and labels all over it, so I presumed he knew what he was selling. However, after a polite e-mail to B&B, they told me that it was not one of theirs ... so I guess it is by someone else. Not the end of the world, as I bought it because I liked it, not because of the name. Can anyone identify this sideboard / buffet on casters please? The build quality is very nice indeed and it has on ...

Seems like a good price, I... Seems like a good price, I dont have the relevant expertise to say 100% its a B&B alanda but it is the same table I sold as an alanda. The one I bought had some remnants of plastic feet on it when I got it but I whipped them off making it look like the one you are showing. Mine also has holes in the corner for suction pads. I saw one copy / look-a-like table before a\nd what it lacked was the bars up the top that join the centre circle to the other areas....yours has this so its not the same as the one other copy Ive seen. I believe the alanda has been discussed here before...Use the search box up and to the right to check former threads. Good Luck.

... in glass shelves either until I saw this one by accident. Actually, I wanted to pick up an alanda coffee table from Paolo piva. Then it hung there, 20cm above the ground in front of a large glass front in a beautiful 1970s bungalow. 3 glass shelves equipped with an exclusive stereo system and the matching, very discreet halogen lamp. Next to it a black leather lounge chair, that really impressed me. In the background the alanda table, the same glass thickness, the same curves, the same cut, simple and clear, perfect for me.

Don't worry about him the... Don't worry about him the alanda is a classic. I would guess there should always be a way to repair it. If covers don't come off you would need to carefully undo the stitching to open up and see what part is broken.A metalworker could always make a new part and an upholsterer can restitch it back when fixed. Ideally if someone knows how the mechanism works it would help assess what could be wrong. At least you will know what to expect. A good furniture restorer who does MCM furniture may also do it if there is one in your area. I have the alanda bed and it's damn hot.

The ratcheting mechanisms on my arms are broken. B & B no longer makes or has parts. Has anyone ever repaired these? If so, how? |
