He was the only designer, and he didn't make so many pieces. He sold the other - more famous - designer's furnitures in his shops, and his label might be from selling - not design 😉 Best regardsPalle dinesen

| Thanks to all. Howard Moon, the cabinets you've seen with oak legs (white oak, I think?), might you have a picture? I will talk to the woodworker and see if he can source some teak, but it's great to have a back-up. Also thanks to everyone who replied on the other thread, and encouraged me to just spend the money and have bases made. I didn't find any legs that seemed just right and so.... | |||||

| Very well said sir... thanks SDR. I agree with you on the overly done part. There's a reason why it's still around cause it's tried and tested. Your comment about the light fixture is also on point. Something that i didn't think of. So glad to have bumped into this website... lots of great design inputs 🙂 | |||||

| ... unevenness in the give/flex of the spring steel that I though was either due to an uneven construction or uneven steel. I'll spare you another attempt at explaining the issue since the problem is reduced significantly by putting it on a more level surface (Thanks for the suggestion!). It would be hard to show in pictures or video the imperfections in symetry at this point because they are so slight and they do not affect the integrity of chair in any real way. I was very relieved to get in onto a pefectly level surface and am satisfied overall at this poin ... | |||||

| I repeat my assertion that the poster's table is an important if mysterious piece. The table base didn't achieve its form by accident, nor by the fortunate blundering of a wanna-be designer or knock-off artist. It's possible that a search through Isamu Noguchi's archive might reveal the origin of this table, along with additional photos. A trace of the family history of the seller might be productive, as well. | |||||

| Isn't that a characteristic of polyurethane--that you can't blend the edges of it at all? It's hard to touch up. I put it on a new wood top so I didn't have that issue. I also used it on new jatoba once and had to do a LOT of coats before it had an even sheen. Like 8, I think? Only had to do 2-3 on the new wenge table top. It looks like a good oil finish but I don't have to worry much about spills and drips. Not that I don't have coasters on it all the time but with a 6-year-old grandson, it's nice not to have to play Drip Police. | |||||

When I was little, G-Will always seemed to be a place for those extremely in need to find extremely affordable stuff. My mom would bring us to find clothes for 1.00. The tag didn't matter. It was a shirt and and a used one at that. Nowadays if it's a nicer brand, it's priced as such. Anyway, Raul, I think you know the steps by now; less-to-more aggressive. I'm sorry for you that the finish didn't turn out satisfactorily after all your hard work. Believe me when I tell you that I feel your pain, brother. I find final finishing the least pleasurable part of the process, which is why oil is my default choice. It is by far the easiest. | Nope, never seen it before. Come to think of it, I have never had a France & Son coffee table or dining tabe that didn't have a solid timber surface, yet they do pop up. There was a thread a while back with a model 20/59 gateleg dining table that had a thicker veneered surface which was assumed to be a later Poul Cadovius era production. This table looks like they have taken the base from a Hvidt/Nielsen table and stuck on an eliptical surface inspired by the model 20/59 dining table. The surface looks bulky and lacks the elegance of the solid teak tables de ...
