| How did they make Roger Moore's face the same clay color of the chairs, though? And is that a cigar?? The '70's are truly underrated! | |||||

| Not really, just an above-average ability to search furniture makers online. A skill somewhere between memorizing phone numbers and typewriter repair in terms of usefulness. | |||||

| Object oriented space programming...Pt.2 Translated to more ordinary language, improve the livability of your space by rearranging your things, throwing out clutter, and adding only what would make the legacy furniture program work better. Many persons would look at this distillation and say, "but why go through the gyrations of language that proceeded it when every Tom, dick and Harriet understands already." The answer is: because they don't, or there wouldn't be dysfunctionally cluttered houses, offices, and public spaces (note: I do think some clutter is ... | |||||
| Will it be close captioned for the hearing impaired? | 1 Relevance | 21 years ago | dcwilson | General discussion | |
| Will it be close captioned for the hearing impaired? Will the FEMA director Mike Brown wear a suit that plays "Fool on the Hill"? Will George Bush wear a dress shirt with rolled up sleeves that plays, "I'm Down, But I Keep Falling." Will Homeland Security director Chertoff wear an oxford that plays, "If You Go Down In the Flood Its Gonna Be Your Fault?" Will the Mayor of New Orleans wear a t-shirt that plays "Positively Fourth Street" every time he sees George Bush? Will Condi wear a Holly Golightly hat that plays "Moon River" when she visits the flood zone ... | |||||

| So true! Check out the posture relative to other guests. Instinctively, he's offering a visual college lecture in how to make a chair even more beautiful. I don't think he'd yet begun his Bond career at this point. With one glimpse you can see that the Mr. Bond role was inevitable. And he thereby offered us a steady stream of unforgettable 1970s furniture and interior design backdrops! He definitely shaped my early imagination of the 1970s. | |||||

| Why, aren't you the very dickens. Looks yum. As for the neighbor's wreath -- now I know what to do with Grandma Drew's lovely fox stole -- the one with the head and tail intact, the jaws spring-loaded to clamp it around Grannie's neck . . . | |||||

| Well, I ran out of copies of the installation and instruction booklet, and had a dickens of a time getting more copies made. I finally did and they're up on a eBay at the set sale price of $38.00 (printing has gone way up). If you have enough parts to set up a CSS bookshelf installation, YOU'LL ABSOLUTELY NEED this instruction manual. An original is extremely hard to find and sell over $100.00. This is a reasonably way of learning how to set-up these components. There's also a checklist of the parts that could be ordered in 1962-63. Check it out on eBay b ... | |||||

| Toronto is definitely seeing the trend to Industrial. Several shops that 8 years ago were mid-century modern have shifted over to the Charles dickens look. It's amazing what people will pay for a set of vintage high school lockers (soft industrial?) After IKEA comes out with faux industrial, what'll be next on the design radar? | |||||
| I'm under the impression | 1 Relevance | 16 years ago | barrympls | General discussion | |
| I'm under the impression that the Pretzel chairs were the result of people at Nelson Associates trying to create a single bentwood chair that could be picked up by only one finger, yet strong enough to sit on! As I understand it, Herman Miller had a dickens of a time producing the side and armchairs, so after a year of mediocre sales and difficult production, they were discontinued and either Nelson asked Cherner or the other way around to try to improve the chairs and that Cherner was free to put the adjusted chairs into production. Am I wrong? | |||||

| Here are 2 I am trying like a dickens to ID. One I posted yesterday (trestle table) one I just picked up (I bought it off of CL while on Vacation). I think the Trestle table mark says FDP or FDR...closest I could think of was France and Daverkosen, but am willing to be corrected...( I KNOW I have seen that mark). the 2nd, less clear mark is a MYSTERY, looks like HA Sigma. The workmanship is amazing. the 2nd item is plywood magazine rack. I believe the outside wood is Mahogany. The only online reference I could find simply said it was "1960's/American". ... | |||||
