London is renowned for having excellent vintages fairs, stores and anything retro or mid-century. Being a rich and historic city and having so much to see and explore. Here is a small but handy list of places not to be missed.

 

Midcentury East is a fair where you can see 55+ dealers selling everything from rare collectable pieces to more functional C20 furniture you can use in your own home as well as striking posters, quirky lighting, Berber rugs, ceramics and glass from world famous C20 icons all dotted around the ground floor of midcentury architect Ernö Goldfinger’s only brutalist school.

Midcentury Modern come to this incredible light and bright building with its floor to ceiling windows, concrete buttresses and acoustic wall for anything from an original Cherner chair to a contemporary piece from a hot young British designer. Source the latest furniture, wallpaper, ceramics, cushions and gifts upstairs after you have scoured the most collectable vintage furniture and home ephemera on the planet downstairs.

The London Design Fair is an international trade show that occurs during the London Design Festival. It takes place in the Old Truman Brewery, on Brick Lane in East London over four days every September. It is a fantastic event which brings together designers from across the globe and demonstrates the capital’s position as a powerhouse for the creative industries. London is known for its creativity and continues to attract the best companies and talent from around the world. The next edition will be in September 2020.

The Vintage Furniture Flea happens several times a year at some lovely town halls from Bethnal Green to Marylebone featuring a fine selection of vintage and retro furniture and homewares from the 1950s onwards. You can find a wide selection, ranging from fully restored 60s telephones, 70s lamps to British designer pieces from Ercol or G-Plan. The next edition will be the 20th of October 2019 and the one after that will be the 3rd of November 2019.

Little Paris Store is a hidden treasure on the North side of the city. This store situated in the northern part of London not only has vintage goodies but also contemporary. They have gorgeous mirrors, all sorts of seatings and decorations. It is situated, 39 Park Road, London N8 8TE. It’s open Monday to Sunday between the hours of 10:00 am to 06:00 pm.
