I recently acquired a Series 7 chair manufactured in 1972 based on the label on the chair. Unfortunately the legs do not have the caps on the ends. I emailed Fritz Hansen and they very graciously sent me some caps; however, they appear to be incompatible with my chair as the ends of the legs on my chair are solid whereas the caps seem to be made for chairs with hollow legs. Does anyone know if Series 7 chairs made in 1972 had caps on the ends of the legs? If so, is there a way to get vintage foot caps? I have attached a photo of the end of the leg on my chair a.

I had a set of 1972 series 7’s, they had taller feet caps on them. I’ve put up a picture, it’s not great as I no longer have them! Hope this helps.

What you see at your chair is the inner part of a usual Hansen glide. It is made of 2 parts. They never changed over the years, except the material.
