Hi all,

Managed to pick up three of these chests that lost their metal legs along their lives.

Is there any resource to get some originals or original looking ones?

They are round, black lacquered and finished of with (I assume) chromed feet.

I could take some examples out of a general hardware store, but wonder if I'll diminute their value.

I'll attach a pic for reference.

Thanks!

Shouldn't be too expensive to have a local metalworker fabricate reasonably accurate facsimiles. Evidence found on undersides should provide clues as to configuration of attachment (post photos?).

And you want stainless steel glides like the old "Domes of Silence" or plastic down there. Chrome plating wears off exposing mild steel which can rust and/or leave black stains on wood floors.

Thanks for your suggestion Tktoo, I'll certainly look into that possibility!

You are certainly right about the chrome wearing off.
