Thank you, spanky. Too funny! After spending the morning staring at Russian icons, I really needed that. Maybe now I can stop wondering if the rafters out in the garage will hold my weight ...for today, anyway.

Oh, Randy is a delight. I'm so glad I was introduced to her here !
Binaca -- really. More !
In the meantime, I call tonight's sunset "Flying object over San Francisco." Of course, it's probably the 4:45 Portland-to-San Diego shuttle, or something.
The skeletal structure visible in many of my shots is the 1973 Sutro Tower, owned by a consortium of local television broadcasters and built on a western peak about 100 feet from the mansion of a former mayor of the city, Adoph Sutro. A close-up photo shows the scale of the structure, by revealing a walkway and ladder. In the distance, beyond the city, are the two halves of the Bay Bridge, separated by Yerba Buena Island and with Treasure Island to its left. Across the Bay, center, is Berkeley. Other landmarks are Market Street ("The Slot"), a dark diagonal in the lower right foreground ; the pointed Transamerica Pyramid, middle left; Coit Tower on its green promontory, far left; and, above the word "pinnacle" in the caption, the triangular gable and bell tower of the church which also appears on my horizon.

Hello y'all! Howdy to the small animals. Aloha! Hi.
I had my tacky bird pillows dry cleaned, and returned to the patio. Plus I like the clouds today. They remind me of you.
yup,
Aunt Mark

Should I be annoyed that, if I'm absent for a week, I have to log in to comment ? What am I, chopped liver ?
On the other hand, Mark makes everything okay again, every time. How he do dat ?
I have a nice Thanksgiving cartoon from Bizarro. I'll find and share . . .

I like that he has a hat buckle as well as a belt buckle. Are there hat suspenders, as well ?

Lovely SDR!
Now I cranked out a dark meat squirl pie from the "Ray Eames and her Cluttered Kitchen" cookbook this morning. Pie can be prepared the night before guests are to arrive. Serve hot or cold. Great for pic-nics.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Aunt Mark

Hi.
Saw this letter for sale today. On Worth Avenue. Hi.
Hi,
Aunt Mark
Frank Lloyd Wright Autographed Letter.
Taliesin : 1940. Important autograph letter signed by Frank Lloyd Wright to friend and architectural critic, Lewis Mumford. Letter is 19 x 8 1/2 inches. It reads, "My dear Lewis: I’ve read "The Brown Decade" you so kindly sent me and it is a useful work in your splendid style. I didn’t agree in total but admire and respect. I was sorry to see so little of you in New York- intending to see you if I saw no one else. And the stupidity of wandering around in the Lehigh Starret building while you were waiting for me at 41 west 12th street rises to plague me still. Dutchy and I saw something of Catherine Bauer in New York. The Guggenheim has asked me for a recommendation for the new work she wants to do and I my best- but wrote her what I thought of her thesis. You know what I must think about that. Enclosed is a copy of what I think about it for your files if you care for it. Wright would later accept the contract to build the Guggenheim three years later in 1943, Hilla Rebay, the curator stated to Wright that he wanted to build, "A temple of spirit, a monument!” Matted and framed.

SIGNED FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT LETTER
Wright, Frank Lloyd.
Frank Lloyd Wright Autographed Letter.
Taliesin : 1945. Autograph letter signed by Frank Lloyd Wright addressed to "Friedrich Bruns: 2330 Rowley Avenue: Madison 5" The letter reads: "My dear Friedrich Bruns: Would you please be so kind as to pass this brochure on to somebody you think capable of translating it properly, inserting [between the] the leaves with the translation written on each side [of the insert]. We expect to pay whatever the work would be worth. Sincerely, Frank Lloyd Wright." Wright also writes below in his hand, "Kindly cherish this brochure it is the only one we have! FLW." Matted and framed with the original hand canceled envelope.

Thank you so much.
I wonder how you came to have a transcript for each letter, and how you were able to post them here. Do you have Optical Character Recognition capability ? I lost mine when HP "upgraded" the software for my all-in-one scanner/printer . . .
Love, Steve
