Yup, SDR.
If a scratch/dent/nick were to appear on any of my wagons, I'd have a full blown melt down. I like well maintained cars...probably clinically obsessive/compulsive. Wash 'em myself, I do, always have. Personal favorite is my 2005 MINI Cooper S (the red monster). Till death do we part. The new Countryman is well designed, but too refined for a MINI. The Benz is wicked fast. I bought it when I started taking golf lessons (perfect fit). I'm never late! My red/white 1970 Ford f150xlt pick up truck is rusted all to hell, but runs well. 390cid 4bbl, cruise-o-matic 4x4, lock out hubs, 2 speed trans axel. Only 55K on the clock...all whilst snow plowing the lane of a house I used to own. Tough miles, but the A/C still blows cold. It has burned through many power steering and water pumps. Many, yes. Also have an old 280sl. Used to be mom's. 1970? or 1971 model. It's clean, a garage queen. Beige/palomino. Pagoda. (rare factory a/c). In mothballs. That's all.
Hi.
Your Aunt Mark
'
I want it. The 280 SL. Prettiest personal car of all time, pretty much. Big wheels, big glass, practically nothing else -- but what's there is so subtle. Mercedes is among a few (who are the others ?) who can use the same detailing employed on a sedan, to make a sports roadster. Why invent a whole new vocabulary, as they do now ?
MB has more models today that all their previous offerings, since the beginning, put together -- I bet. Whatever you fantasy, they have a sedan to fill it -- and then there are all the SUVs. Like a Jeep ? They've got one. Like a Lexus ? They've got one of those. Whew !
Now, how about the new Prius ? What the ____ ! What it tells me is that Americans (for whom the thing was doubtlessly styled, based on mucho polling and 'clinics') ) have ever worsening taste in vehicles. What a monstrosity.
Oh, Jeez -- they're selling it in the UK, too.

I've been enjoying the Inspector George Gently series, I guess from the BBC. Set in 1969, I think; Gently drives a bright blue Rover 2000 TC, and his sergeant a used MGB and then a Cortina or some such.
Hi.
Slideshow time.
Hi.

Good Morning SDR!
Paul Rudolph designed some sweet residential creations on the Gulf of Mexico side of Florida. Many still stand. Affordable, too. I am not feeling the love with/for that slideshow. Too much glam. Too much crap. Too much_______. I'd wear something a little bit special, if ever invited. Something simple.
Simply,
Your Aunt Mark
I'm not feeling that one either. What about this home? It's pretty much the diametric opposite, I think. I saw photos of it years ago somewhere and was fascinated at how someone could choose to live in a home like this. I love every single thing in it and I love it all together, but it's not me, either! Still. I'd love to visit it.

PS, Aunt Mark, you are a peach among men.
Nice.
Speaking of subtle and refined, what do you have that would go well with the interior of the Fisker station wagon -- or shooting brake, as they have it ? I found out my little Honda repair shop is the Northern California authorized repair facility for this not-yet-released model, and the other Fiskers. Maybe I'll trade up -- if my roof rack will fit on it.
