Have a good trip Mark!
Meanwhile, tonight is the Donald's big moment….
Everything has been first rate so far--
First there was plagiarism (of MICHELE OBAMA'S speech no less!)
Then there was last night's amateurish presentation featuring a stage blackout
Lastly, there was Ted Cruz getting a prime time slot to NOT ENDORSE the Donald!
We can all look forward to more train wreck watching tonight. (Except it's really hard to actually watch. After 10 minutes of Donald's son, we switched to a movie)
OH WHAT WILL HAPPEN?

The trump children make my skin crawl almost as much as The Donald does. Especially Eric!
Does anyone believe that Meredith McIver, who is 65 and has worked as a writer for many years, was stupid enough to plagiarize so blatantly? I don't.

Honestly, I began to wonder if both MO and MT (or MM) hadn't found those phrases in some earlier writing, somewhere . . .
Hmm. If so, I'm sure the Trumpers would have trumpeted rather than prevaricating.
Last night's highlight for me was from Tuppence: Trump was said to be a "truth-teller" and, to top that, "utterly without pretense." And yet they flock . . .
Mark, is Mr Chopper a stowaway in that smaller LV tote . . . ?

Mark, I don't know if I like the fuchsia/lavender/violet sunset (7/9) or the blue-and-green one of the next night . . . better.
And there have been other lovelies since. Hope you're enjoying your day.
Thursday, 5:20 PM, well before the candidate's acceptance speech; David Brooks notes that DT is running with the message to his potential voters, not of "You want me," but of "You need me."

Interesting SDR,
At the wrap up after the speech, the bumper music that was chosen was The Rolling Stone's "Sympathy for the Devil"
"You can't always get what you want, but you get what you need".
Nice try, delusional Donald.
Remember that half of his own party STILL doesn't even want him, and there are a million more "Ted Cruz's" out there who will refuse to fall line in behind this turkey.
All Hillary has to do is keep it simple, and it's in the bag.
Hillary can forget the high road this time around, as there is NO high road when you go against Donald. Just remain a human being and have a pulse and a few timely retorts, and she easily beats Donald.

According to one comment I heard, she could be vulnerable if she lets him get under her skin -- in a debate, perhaps. The guess was that Donald will shy away from debating her . . .

He has no idea how any of his grand plans could possibly be executed (short of actually executing a lot of people, which right there would open up more worm cans than even he could deflect). Hillary, on the other hand, is a policy wonk. It won't make any difference to Trump's moronic hardcore followers and it won't make any difference to hardcore Hillary haters (large overlap between the two but not total). I'm just hoping that it will sway enough swing voters to affect the outcome. I think the swing voters are largely silent on the internet---maybe? It seems like the only people yakking about the election online are those with passionate views one way or the other.

Jon Stewart made a surprise appearance on Stephen Colbert's show. I feel slightly better after the laughs. Not more hopeful, just slightly less sick to my stomach after watching most of Trump's diatribe last night.

Thanks Spanky,
That Colbert / Jon Stewart link was hilarious! I highly recommend it.
I love how Stewart nailed Hannity's complete 180 on Obama and Trump.
Now that Roger A is out at Fox, we hopefully will see some of the dorks like Hannity or Bill O'Riley exit the stage.
Funny, Trump himself is just like Fox News… Both are the the worst case scenario products of what happens when real news is debased in the name of entertainment.
And both have reaped ridiculous profits doing so.

So, I was worried that Trump would be able to stay on track with his scripted speech last night… And he did. Oh well. But I guess this happened today already? It says it was a campaign event in Cleveland after Cruz's RNC speech.

Thanks, Spanky. Some people I know are gonna get linked to that . . . !
. . . and Stewart and Colbert were great. I don't get to see that show every day.

"I miss objectworship's wicked sense of humor"... Perhaps he pissed up the wrong tree?
"If a dear friend were to utter "a swear word against my mother, he's going to get a punch in the nose. That's normal." His Holiness, Pope Francis
I understand that even "bad men" love their mother. Leviter calcare is an excellent thought when mentioning mother's, children and those unable to help themselves.

Suddenly it all makes sense. Well, the sucking-up-to-Putin part, anyway.

WOW.
I didn't know that Trump had been totally blackballed by every US bank!
"Mr. Wall" who is all "us and them" on free trade, is totally kissing Putins ass for his loans!
This is absurd.
He calls Hillary "corrupt"--- while he continues to make significant loan deals with Putin and his friends?
Do we want a president who is not credit worthy and can't even get a loan from a US Bank?
Do we want a president who owes Vladimir Putin (and his friends) HUUUGE amounts of money?
This guy is scum.
PS Did Russia hack the DNC?

The FBI says it looks like Russian hackers are responsible for the DNC breach. The question is whether Trump is behind it. Of course one of his sons denied it-- or maybe it was a non-relative--either way, totally expected given Trump's near-daily denial of facts of all kinds.
I'd like to see the RNC's classified emails regarding their own candidates. Pretty sure The Donald would not be happy if they were leaked.

POOR Donald can't get a loan in his own country.
Because he has repeatedly shown that he makes poor business decisions and does not pay back his debts. There is NOT ONE BANK IN AMERICA that is foolish enough to lend money to him. Because they all know that they will never see their money again.
So why should we trust him? I am surprised that Putin trusts him.
This does not smell right.
TRAIN WRECK TRAIN WRECK TRAIN WRECK.
