My new favorite chair. Sat in many over the years and liked them. Finally picked one up. Great place to nap. I'm looking forward to my first winter with it.

George Nelson Action Office One Roll Top Desk
I sit at this desk everyday. Almost all pieces in my home come and go, but I think I will always have this one.

Here is the
little wooden man who sits on my desk and whom I often talk to when no one is around to hear me. Found him lying on a blanket at a flea market in Brussels. My husband thinks he, (Bertrand, not my husband), is the ugliest thing we have in our home.

Bertrand looks a bit like "Jesus missing his right hand".
He's kinda cute. And what fun you could have with him.
Fondly,

Mark, you have
made Bertrand cry. He HAS a right hand. It is up by his shoulder. It is waiting for someone to put a martini glass in it. Duh.

Would Bertrand perhaps enjoy an evening out with a lady friend of mine?

She is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma. Been trying to figure out her origins for years. Only marks are a glazed and separate incised ML. One of these days I'll figure it out. For now, she sits on a shelf in my bedroom, oddly enough, wearing an olive pit rosary with a silver Jean Lambert Rucki crucifix.

Here's another:
a restaurant poster from the 50's or 60's detailing the specialty dessert from the Leresche restaurant. It's an ice cream sundae with cherries and red Kirsch liqueur. It hangs above some gear molds and a West German vase in my kitchen.
