hi all -
Anyone have any idea who the designer / maker is for this one? It is marked made in denmark on the back with some other writing that is so light I can't read it.

It appears to be rosewood, extremely heavy. It has a dark mark on the top, and some repair work needed on the right tambour door.

I told my wife that I would stop bringing "projects" home no matter what, but I just couldn't resist on this one.

Anyone know how to access a tambour door in a piece like this? It would be good to not have to take the whole thing into the shop.

Any help is much appreciated. Cheers.

The back should be removable
to access stops on the ends of the tambours which should also be screwed in place. If not, the inside back and/or side panels should come out. If neither, it's meant to be disposable.

Yes I believe the back panel is removable. That was my plan once I get some help to get it into the house. Take the back panel off and see if the tambour door can be removed that way.

Now that I think about it,
it's the handles that need to come off. The tambours should slide out the back once it's off.

well I did finally find a maker mark on the sideboard. It is stamped with "H.P. Hansen". From what I could find on the web that is the maker. Does anyone know anything else about H.P. Hansen? Can't seem to find too much info on the web.
thanks

They were a period Danish maker. Not sure off the top of my head of any designers they may have worked with.
You can see quite a few more credenzas of theirs here (edit:fixed):

Thanks for the information. I wasn't able to use the link though for some reason. So would this credenza be a 60's era piece?
thanks for everyone's help.

looks
70s, possibly even 80s to me
Companies such as Dyrlund and Skovby were using plinths with tambour doors at this time
