I would like to determine the relative value of two small wood chairs that are marked (stamped) as Thonet. I have looked at a number of websites but have not seen this particular chair.
They are ldder back, only two rungs and measure about 183/4" inches from floor to seat, 15 1/2" from seat to top rung and about 34" total, floor to top. The seat is about 15" across.
After some looking I think the wood may be coromandel, just looking at a web picture of the wood grain and color.

The Thonet stam is rather distinctive and in two places under the seat. They are not in mint condition but are serviceable. Albeit for small people.

I may want to sell them but not give them away if they are of any value. Likewise I do not want to ask for more than they are worth.

Thanks to anyone that can help.

Sorry no picture as yet.

Serviceable for small...
Serviceable for small people, you say? Sounds like it could be the ladder-back chair from Thonet's long discontinued Oompa Loompa line.

Thank you. I will continue to explore this subject thanks to your input. If anyone else has a suggestion, I will also take that into consideration in my search
Still puzzled but more currious.

Is this true or just a joke? If it's true, where can it be validated? If not, well, you know.
Thanks

Puzzled, I was just joking...
Puzzled, I was just joking around. As far as I know there is no such thing as an Oompa Loompa series. Pictures would help to make a proper ID.

As I did indeed suspect. But thanks for owning up to it.
I think Ooompa Loompa was just too suspicious.
I will continue to study these chairs for further clues as to their heritage and status.
If you find any actual verifiable information, please post it.
Thanks
