I'm looking for more info on this series by De Coene of Belgium. I've been offered a full dining room suite, it seems like its form their line "Return of Egypt".  Mahogany with brass accents.  Curious if anyone has more info on the manufacturer generally, quality of their items, value etc.?

I'm much more well versed in MCM pieces, this is a bit outside my wheelhouse.  Thanks!

Thank you!  This is very helpful (with the assistance of Google Translate).  😉

It really is, isn't it?  Apparently it's a flamed mahogany with carved brass accents.  Beautiful pieces, but not typically what I resell in our shop – might be a limited market for the type of house that would be suitable for these pieces.

Looks to be the same model, described as French Empire with Egyptian Revival figures, 20th century.

Hey Mr.Blonde,

Can't add much to the links that Wesemael posted. Except maybe some short history of the firm in broad lines: they made their succes in the 20-30s where they used molded plywood to make rounded art-deco furniture. Next to individual pieces they were known for there complete interiors. To do this they had different workshops in all sorts of trades: woodcarving, carpentry, leaded glass, metal workshops, tapestry... I believe they employed 5000 people at one point!
They bought the licenses of Knoll, and produced and managed these designs in the 50-60-70s. But all along they also kept producing luxurious en high-quality furniture like your empire-revival sideboard. Even more luxurious & exotic furniture they designed and produced for arabic kingdoms.

Late to reply to this, but thanks for the history lesson!  Much appreciated.
