If I had a big kitchen this would be excellent, I saw one a few years ago at an antiques shop. With a few alterations like a block top for prep and lockable casters it could work really well, there is almost something Colombo/Italian about it though its a depression era steel drum, cut with the steel attached to wedge shaped wood pivoting draws.

Flour, sugar, salt, dried beans etc and all stored and vermin resistant, its a bit like the draw/canisters in the Frankfurt kitchen.

Any other examples of good design sans celebrity?

.
and I thought I had a good memory, even so any more examples?
Can't speak for anyone else but I'm finding the cult of the designer a bit tiresome.
