I bought at auction four pieces of Mahogany Asscoiates, 204, pieces which include the dresser, desk and two nightstands. The manufacturing tag (which is in optimal condition) reads From: MOUNT AIRY FURNITURE, CO. Mount Airy, N.C TO: Teeter's Furn. Workland, Wyoming 210. MAH. PKG. NO. 5F. Here is a picture of front of piece and backside. Need help assessing date of manufacture. I'm estimating 1920-1930s.
I have a piece that was made by the Fancher Furniture co. It's got a genuine mahogany wood number of 139. Does anybody know how to look up information on this piece of furniture or find out how much it is worth? I'd like to know the history of it. It's been in my basement since 1979. My parents got it somewhere when I was a kid. I purchased the house from my mother ten years ago. It's been sitting there until recently. My girlfriend said she would like to have it cleaned up and put in the kitchen. I believe that it's a credenza or buffet of sorts. It has 4 drawers in the middle and 2 on the sides over 2 doors. I can't find any information on it. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jody
I have a dresser and believe the matching mirror that was my parents that I can remember back before I was 10 years old. I am asumming maybe they bought it in the Maryland area in the 60's.
It is #428. Solid Mahogany by the Mahogany Association Inc. It has a total 0f eight drawers. Four on
each side going from smaller to larger at the bottom. Just curious if it is worth anything.
And of course to help you re-assemble your list.
I have a chest of drawers with a Mahogany Association label stating that it is #560.
Unfortunately, I do not know the origins of this chest as I purchased it YEARS ago at a yard sale in the East Texas area.
The chest has been painted a God awful yellow color (I didn't do it!!) and is in need of some serious TLC. I have been using it as a "catch-all" cabinet in an obscure corner of a utility room. Have always wondered about the Mahogany Assoc. label inside the top drawer. Have considered selling it a couple of times at yard sales...but for some reason, I can't bear to part with this unfortunate looking piece!
Planning to strip the paint off and stain the beautiful original Mahogany.
You can see the original Mahogany inside the drawers (see pic). Very promising piece!!
Hope this helps your efforts to reassemble the original list!
