#253 Lentz Table Co
I have a beautiful mahogany 2 tier table with a spectacular MA sticker #253 on the bottom. I keep the table upsidedown so I can look at my sticker everyday! You won't find anything like this at Wal-mart (aka: the Evil Empire) they only sell Crap stickers of bunnies & spongeBob! I sincerely hope this helps Brent complete his 4 year list he's compiling! 🙂
Ah, a breath of fresh air ...

Nothing else written on it, so I can't tell who the manufacturer is. If anyone can help, I'd love to hear it. I've bought this for $400.
Leather inlay. Locking center drawer. Solid metal wheels.
The gentleman I'm buying it from says it's probably from the 1940's or 50's. I'm no expert on furniture, but all I know is that I'm pretty drawn to this desk for some reason, and I'm willing to give $400 for it. I hope it'll be worth it...

Has a recent list been compiled?
I know that some of you think this is ridiculous, but since the original list was destroyed, this is an interesting way to re-create it. It may seem senseless now, but in another 100 years, someone might benefit from it.
I've been in the antiques business for 39 years, selling mostly 18th & early 19th c furniture. Yes, this 20th c furniture is not antique, but it's a good idea to document manufacturers now. The pieces with the MA label are at least real mahogany and they're a heck of a lot better than the crap being sold today ..... modern furniture won't be standing in 70 years! So, let's give the members of the MA some credit for striving for quality in a time when other manufacturers were cutting corners and using inferior woods with veneers.
I do happen to have a piece that has the MA tag, but no manufacturer's label. I would be interested in figuring out who the manufacturer is, because it's a very nicely made block front chest on chest. There is even hand champhoring inside the drawers, so it's not a piece that was just thrown together. The # on the tag is 199, so if someone has a piece with #199 plus a maker's label, I'd be happy to hear about it.
Thanks,
Carolyn
