I moved from New York to San Francisco almost 5 years ago. My son moved into my apartment there where I'd left my circa 1980 Milo Baughman by Thayer Coggin sectional. Structurally, it is still in wonderful condition, including all the cushions. However, the upholstery is worse for wear. It's the high backed style with wedge back cushions, two armless and two corner pieces, and seriously, the most comfortable seating ever.
He and his girlfriend are ready to move on to their own furniture. What do I do? Is there any demand for this furniture? Should I store them in anticipation of moving back and having them re-upholstered or slipcovered? Or, just say good-bye and donate or dump them? It seems such a shame to do that when a little TLC might save them for someone in need.
