Should I cut down my Nelson CSS poles??

I was just wondering how you cut your poles down? Did you do it yourself with a cross cut / miter saw or something.

One NEVER!! cuts down Nelson CSS poles. To do such a deed, would be tragic. Consider selling them, and replacing with the proper size.

wow, lighten up. If something doesn't fit in your house, and you are willing to modify it to make it fit in your home I am all for it. Especially if you don't plan to try to sell it. Why would cutting down some css poles be sacrilege?
I am planning to do the same thing in the future in my home office to match a sill line for some clerestory windows.
