Nice! And I guess that ebay listing answers your question about the glides. Looks like it has the slip on boots. It's going to be prohibitively expensive to track down original boots in good condition, since they'd most likely come with a chair attached :), but there is somebody who sells reproduction boots on ebay. I attached a link (this isn't me, and I've never seen these boots in person - they seem like a decent deal though).

Dating the Shell...
Thanks for the link brbeard.
I'm still very interested in figuring out this shell, dating it or getting a story to it. There's no embossment symbol of any kind on the chair either. That does make it an earlier version right?
I'm going to do as much digging as I can. I think the sheen (according to me) is still very much on. Perhaps it's overshadowing the true fibers a bit. I'm not sure but I probably just need to take some better photos with appropriate light to give a better representation.
Can't wait for more feedback.
Thanks everyone.

2nd gen
Hi,
This chair is produced by Zenith and distributed by Herman Miller. It's the 2nd generation produced from 1953 to 1956.
The 2nd gen. have same fiber as 1st gen Zenith, same big sockmounts, but no rope edge.
The shell produced from 53 to 56 had a red label. This label is most of time missing.
You shell is all original for me.
ps: sorry for my english
