I always thought this vase (one of my favourite shapes) came in only 2 sizes
Today I got a giant (red) one which is larger than I have ever seen.
It's vase 1472 by Tamara Aladin for Riihimaen Lasi Glassworks, Finland, and dates from about 1969

I'd love to know more about these. What are the dimensions of these two pieces? Tell us about the designer etc... I looked in the index and there is nothing there. A discussion about design with no strings attached? Enlighten us!

Good score
I love that design also. I have a few of them in different colors. I've not seen that extra tall version before either.

Finnish Glass
is one of my passions
These are 20cm, 25cm and 30cm in height
Designed by Tamara Aladin for Rihhimaen Lasi Oy Finland
Late 1960s
Pegboard, I bought it assuming the seller had made a mistake with sizes, I've never come across the 12" version before!

Very nice vases. I like the simplicity of the shape.
We have this blue one in the same style (with the Rihhimaen label). Probably designed by Tamara Aladin (or maybe Nanny Still).

Lucky you
on finding that big one! I saw an 8" one just two weekends ago at a market in Bremgarten bei Bern. Unfortunately, the dealer knew what it was and wanted 129 CHF for it so I kept walkin'. Nice groupings, both of you.

Thank you Robert. I wasn't completely sure of my attribution.
Do you have any reference book to recommend concerning Finnish glass?
We have some books about general Finnish design or Scandinavian glass but nothing specific enough.

Leslie Pina Fire & Ice
is a pretty good book, but the most accurate and comprehensive resource for Scandinavian glass is a website:

Whoops
I was wrong. I have seen the tall one before. I have two.
All of ours have been packed up since we moved three years ago. We have not had a good space to display them. I thought I'd go look at the colors and discovered that we have one of the small size, two of the medium and two of the large. We have some other pieces in different shapes as well.
I'll take some pics ASAP.
