I look at tons of old magazines looking for Mccobb iron and planner group items. I like the low brow element, and it seems like you never find pics like this. Its from a book called "Ladies Home Journal Book of Interior Dec." by Elizabeth Halsey. If you have similar adds, pictures with attributions please email them or share!

I probably could add a few images if I knew how to attach/send jpegs. His wrought iron furniture was made by Arbuck, the wrought iron accessories (often with white Carrara glass insets) were by Bryce. Lighting by Northcraft Studios and the brass lighting by Excelsior Art Studios. Seldom, if ever, are they marked with the manufacturers name. cak

I admire many of Mccobbs pieces I had the not expensive, but obscure, Mccobb T.V. lamp: the milk glass cylinder on three legs bought it in 1975.A low end jewelry box factory covered in one of his fabrics in grey tones.Mccobb even tried his hand at tile patterns.

Hi cak
You speak the language! If you can send pictures via email, send to donsof at yahoo, I will post them for you if like.
On another note, it seems like these early pieces were probably considered crude. I think they were just perfect. Later lines have the same shapes, ie... the Calvin line, only in finer metals like brass. I like the early stuff though, like a young Elvis, they are just proportioned to a "T"
I should own the Mccobb book, but don't yet. I understand it doesn't cover the early iron stuff... or does it?
thanks
