What are your thoughts on the Merton Gershun Dania line? For mass produced furniture, it's some of my favourite. Builders brass killed all desire I ever had to see brass again in my lifetime until I saw this piece. It's not as simple as other pieces of MCM furniture, but I don't know...those louvered fronts, brass legs, half moon pulls on the glass, and the white interior drawers make me woozy. I love that you can't see the drawer lines when the drawers are closed because of the sculpted walnut fronts. The squared off and smaller than the cabinet sizing of the legs are a tad Japanese.
Unfortunately, like most MCM mass produced lines, to remain economical all the effort and expense had to go into one piece of furniture in the suite and the other pieces in the suite were blah. In this case, the hutch is so pretty and the table blah. Same with bedroom suite of furniture...the dressers are beautiful and the bed is ho hum. Another good reason to buy the best of each designer line instead of sticking to the purist head to toe approach, imo.
