I picked this up today at a garage sale and am having trouble identifying the model, etc. Can't seem to find anything similar.
The top is shot. Needs new veneer on the top and edge.
The rest is actually very nice. Little here and there.
The lady was sure the drawers were original color. Sweet.
The SD logo is in place. There are some numbers on the bottom.
I am about 30 minutes from the old Stow Davis factory so odd stuff does show up.
I frick'n love this desk. Too big for my home with the current top.
Have you see one? Where should I look for more info.

I like it too.
You could have a smaller top made -- and save the original for eventual re-veneering/reproduction. It's a really nice design, with all the repeating radiused corners.
(Interesting phenom: I accidentally hit the poster's edit button -- and got the photos full size, in all their glory. Try it . . . !)
Are you sure the top is...
Are you sure the top is original? The top just looks alot different then th bottom in terms of color, etc. I guess this could be due to age and wear/tear or a result of photo lighting, but is it possible the old top was cracked in the past and replaced? I like the bottom of the desk but not the top. It just doesn't 'work' with the bottom, IMHO.
No I can't be sure about the...
No I can't be sure about the top.
The SD logo is in the drawers but no SD marks on the top.
The radius of the corners on the top are a good match if compared to the radius of the bin below.
Additionally, the top has no previous holes from having been mounted on a different desk.
BTW. I've been in contact with Steelcase Corporate Archives. (Steelcase owns Stow Davis).
They've graciously offered to research the table.
Hopefully I will have some info in a few days.
Its a classic.
We have a similar, but larger desk that also includes a credenza and two matching files, all in the same wood- possibly cherry. It was originally purchased by my father-in-law in the early 1950's. Beautifully constructed and classic design. However, we are in the process of selling- too big for our townhome.
In comparing yours to ours- I would say that the top is original. The painted drawers are not.
