This piece has got a particularly rich veneer, with the pattern and texture of the Mahogany and other tropical wood really celebrated. Perfectly balanced proportions, sleek corners, an absolute attention to detail and the overall quality of craftsmanship makes this piece a stunning example of luxury furniture for the upper classes of the time. The bookcase is divided into two parts: the top part of the cabinet is for display purposes with adjustable/removable shelves behind cut glass cupboard doors. The bottom half of the unit has storage space hidden by wooden swing doors with an integrated drawer. The bookcase is in great vintage condition with original keyholes and hinges. Recent restoration has fully revived the extremely rich colour of the entire piece, showing off the beautiful patterns on all wooden surfaces. The entire piece has been hand finished by Shellac and Nitro varnishes in order to achieve a greater gloss finish.
