part id, part repair question
The picture is of a chair that was on craigslist for an age for too much money.  It showed up at my local charity for too much money.  It finally got reasonable so I bought it.
I previously sorta ID'd it as a French piece by Hugues Steiner (the only comperables I could find anywhere) with some reservations.  If anyone knows differently, let me know.
Now my real question is about the cord.  Is that Seagrass?  Not sisal or danish cord, it would seem.  it is rather rough in texture.

Looks like seagrass to me.  Last time I got some the diameter, color, and tightness of twist was quite inconsistent.  So you might have an interesting time finding the seagrass.  Or maybe not...

I went ahead and bought some online...seemed to be the right width.  I suspect I will have to adjust the tone somehow.  Looked at the local craft stores w/ no luck.  It wasn't expensive so it will give me something to reference.
Thanks!

Seagrass goes from greenish to a nice golden brown after awhile without any help from anyone or anything--go ahead and reweave it if it needs it!  It's also very easy to work with.  Much easier than papercord, in my opinion.

Picked up this social realist Oil painting at my local "thrift store of last resort" today. Type and ageing of materials would likely make it 1950's or earlier. Signed on back Steve Lee. It is a bit less vivid than the pic. I am stunned.

wow.  That has real presence.
I hope you can find out something about the artist.  He has obvious talent.

Hi.

Some dear friends recently gave me their light fixture that matches another (of mine) in one of my bathrooms. I had it slapped onto the wall above the mid-mod treadmill.  Artemide, perhaps.  I can't remember.

Here is the other lamp in my tired, but functional guest bedroom bathroom.

I think?,

Mark, is the abstract painting one that you acquired recently at your favorite charity thrift?  I don't recall seeing it before, but perhaps I am out of touch...
Today I got a cased glass pendant lamp to add to my shelf of other cased glass lamps.  I think I will be using this one for a kitchen remodel I have planned for this Spring.  It will hang over a short penninsula counter space.
The pendant resembles a Lisa Johansen Pape lamp called the "Bulbo", but I do not think it is quite the same.

Hi tchp.
I think that I was the high (yup) bidder on the painting at a silent auction last season.

Thanks, yes that is Jere.  I also have one of the ones with the street lamps and umbrellas.

Greets!
I found this metal framed beveled mirror at my fav charity re-sale store last week.  It'll be re-donated in a few months, probably.  One of the elderly debutants that run the store told me a filthy joke about how to clean a mirror, and we had a nice glass of cheap white wine mixed with fresh orange juice.  I wore Lilly.
Fondly,

Aunt Mark

Why thank you woody. (off topic) I am looking forward to seeing snappies of what you are doing to your new (historic) home.  I'll bet that it's fab.
Best,

The Kronjyden Quistgaard salt/pepper set just arrived today in good shape and quickly assumed the centerpiece spot on the dining room table.

And as a bonus, I also picked up a Borge Mogensen Soborg sideboard this evening as well, model #160, 5' (150cm) long. It might be a bit crowded, but I think I can fit it next to the kitchen table. This photo is from the seller's listing, as it is currently wrapped up in my garage.
