Lamp model ‘DD 40’ by Louis Kalff for Philips, 1950’s

This lamp, that looks like a flying saucer is designed in the early 1950’s by Louis Kalff for Philips. It represents the beautiful designs of this decade strongly I think. Typical terms like ‘science’, ‘technology’ and ‘renewed freedom’ are all readable here. The lamp has an aluminium shade in original condition and was changed from model ‘DD 39’ to model ‘DD 40’ once.
