I once did a drunken moon walk for a bunch of kids at a birthday party hit the carpet and knocked the birthday cake off the table and smashed it in pieces, I have been reminded of this on a weekly basis ever since and have not be able to forget it, wearing it as a badge of shame as you will have to wear this Olive. People heed my warning there are none of us safe, we are all one martini away from something we will regret!

My aunt Doris had a wig on her Tackett egghead, I recall, which covered the ceramic's opening, which I'm guessing now was storing condoms rather than coins, as I recall when her Ericofon rang, she always gave me all her spare change and told me to go play some pinball.

hmmm, Bent, would that by any chance be the "oops-my-arm-got-caught-in-the-cake-I-know-you-can-not-serve-it-any-longer-will-I-just-eat-it-for-you" side lining trick ? And, more importantly, are we talking chocolate cake here ? :o)
Yeah, here on DA we're on to you man. If it's chocolate cake, you'll just need to share. No exceptions. Yet I have to say Moonwalking is a pretty sweet distraction, it is almost letting you getting away with it.
Jesgord, thank you for posting that link ! I previously admired the Ackerman's work, but unfortunately could not remember where I did happen to file the link. They made some damn sweet things, especially love some of their colorful wall hangings. They are a dark horse over in Europe, never heard of them, except on DA. That last carving you posted just makes me smile, great work. Do you own it ? That's one lovely piece.
If nothing else
this thread amply displays the trouble that a single prominent misspelling can wreak (look it up). If for these reasons only, why not check your posts before sending, or (now that we have "edit" enabled) correct your own errors -- before someone else does ? It's not too late for scoutshouse to do so -- unless perhaps he or she is immune to embarrassment ?
"Blame the messenger" lives on, reminding me of "denial is more than a river in Egypt". No one likes to be corrected in public, but there are ways to avoid that !
Is it perhaps odd that there is less trouble when we disagree over intangibles of design, than when an indisputable error is committed ? Shouldn't it be the other way around ?
The subtle but noticeable differences between the original wire ladder system, and the second version by another designer, are instructive. Perhaps there will always be fans of both the lighter, "minimal" version and the more substantial one ? Is one system always wall-hung, and the other floor-standing ?
