I have been looking for information regarding the Furniture Maker's Control stamp that many Danish pieces have. If anyone has any information about this, and the purpose it served (a sort of guild?), or when it was first initiated, or what role the Danish gov. played (if any), I would find it most interesting. I assume that it has something to do with quality control.

Yes, exactly.
Thank you. That probably answered most of my questions, insofar as it would appear to be a sort of guild, or in any case, a quality control organization.
I see also that they say the organization was founded in 1959.
