I hope that someone in the worldwide Design Addict community can help me.

I am in desperate need of a dark brown button for a Herman Miller Eames lounge chair.

I know the chances are slim, and a dead match is even slimer but I hope someone might just have one sitting at the back of a drawer or be able to point me in the right direction.

I have included a Flikr link so you can see the colour needed, it is a very dark chocolate brown.

I have tried all the obvious places and all I can turn up are black buttons.

Please get in touch if you can help.

Many thanks.

Thanks for the replys so far
I have spoken to Graham. He only has buttons in black, he also warned me that Herman Miller themselves may be less than helpfull, although I will try them anyway.

In the US
I think you can get buttons through DWR. A friend of mine popped a button on an ivory chair and they were able to help her.

try an upholsterer
You should be able to get a button made by an upholsterer, especially one who does a lot of leather work.
Tufting buttons come in all sizes and dark brown is a popular color for upholstered goods. I can't imagine that it'd be all that hard to find somebody with a scrap of the right color leather, or very close to it, and a button press tool and parts.

here's what you do.........
often times there is enough leather sticking out along the inside of interior seems or underneath pads to cut off enough to cover a button without any damage or care. it would be easy to find the right size button and then you will have an exact mach.
ask an upholsterer to do this for you.
