Just wanted to share some photos of my visit to the property. It is a truly beautiful and inspiring place. I highly recommend stopping in, if you are ever in the area.

Thanks
so much for the tour ! It may be as close as I ever come, and I appreciate it.
It's good to see that (I presume) nothing much has changed -- other than that the man who made it all happen is gone. . .

Heath
Are you referring to the sideboard / credenza in the background of the photo of the super long coffee table? If so, I actually failed to notice that piece when I was there. I guess it might be some kind of woven material under the wood details.

Woody
Why would a person with your screen name be interested in Nakashima's shop?

Wooood
Yes, I believe Mira Nakashima still manages the operation. One of Nakashima's grandsons, Satoru Amagasu, is also a craftsman there.

Beautiful and organic stuff!
I recall the woman who brought her original Nakashima table to the Antique Road Show. She described placing a custom order back in the 60's and working with Nakashima personally. She commented on what a patient, kind and gentle man he was.She brought along his original drawing for the table design, too and boy did the appraiser ever go nuts over it.

Cheers
Thanks for sharing, I didn't know the artist before and got an inspiration to look into him a little more.
