Danish Teak Highboard by Kurt Østervig for Randers Møbelfabrik A/S, 1960s

Designed by Kurt Østervig for Randers Møbelfabrik A/S. Made in Denmark.   This impressive highboard with beautiful brass hinges has adjustable shelves and 2 drawers. The prominence of the wood’s grain shows that Østervig, like other designers of the period, had a keen appreciation for the natural beauty of wood. Østervig opened his own studio in 1947 and worked as a freelance designer. His interiors projects included private homes, ships, nursing homes, hotels, and cinemas.
