I kinda LIKE the "industrial & ugly" ones
Are you considering making a two-file cabinet corner desk, Litup?
(If so, before shopping for cabinets, you should determine your ideal desk height and proceed from there.)

And of course, there's Bisley
whose cabinets come in a variety of colors:

Agree
I think the plain metal types are just fine. The older the better.

seriously? in a domestic...
seriously? in a domestic environment? If you're living in a loft, perhaps... but I'm not. I don't like industrial objects around my home, with the possible exception of desk lamps and wall clocks.
William, this is not for that corner desk... as I said, I'm not resourceful enough to be making my own furniture

The desk project is about as difficult as playing with Lego.
But, it's not my business to talk you into it; a man's right in knowing his limitations, I suppose.
If you don't want a metal file cabinet, then get wood. I've seen some handsome ones from the 60's/ 70's.

There are LOTS of file cabinets that don't look industrial and ugly. Start your search at the link below the photos:

I am aware that home office...
I am aware that home office filing cabinets exist, the same way I am aware that home sofas exist. I come on here to find inspiration in the modern, not in the generic. Those images depict generic high street furniture.

I think you could do better than that, in the secondhand market
a quick search yields examples like this, offered for $50-100.
That cabinet looks okay at ten paces,Podboy; but I'd wager it's particle board with faux-wood veneer.
