My 1988 Honda
Civic wagon has a digital clock on the dashboard. How's that for a combo ?
The digital numerals glow green -- but Honda designers apparently thought that would clash with the white graphics elsewhere in the dash; they provided a red filter over the LED readout, so the result is white numerals . . .
I'm just sayin' . . .

You sure about that red filter/green LED thing? Seems to me that a filter which passes only red wavelengths, over a display which emits only green wavelengths, would block all the light.

Yeah, reliability is one of the reasons it's my favorite.
The photo's three years old. At the time, the car had about 250K miles on the clock.
Now it's at 290K and still running strong; all I do is change the oil and the tires, and wash it every once in a while.

That's amazing. Old Acura's run forever, too.
But they're Honda's on the right steroids..
