U-458 Sideboard by Jiri Jiroutek for Interier Praha

This piece was part of the popular U collection manufactured by Interier Praha in the 1960s Czechoslovakia. The sideboard perfectly embodies the elegance of the so-called Brussels Style, named after Expo 1958 in Brussels where Czechoslovakia won 13 prizes including one in the furniture category.

There were a few versions of this type of furniture available. Jiroutek designed ones with different colour formica and wooden shelves, with just two lockable hinged doors or with combination of doors and shelves like this one. The sideboard is in great original condition. There is some minor wear and tear on some parts of the wooden surface acquired over the years.
