Never give up hope
I got The Chair for a few hundred bucks. My friend got the PP China chair for about 650. And I recently missed out on a pair of vintage JH folding chairs on ebay for 2K. A far cry from the $15,000 auction listings I'd seen in the past.
In terms of the trend I think it might be the economy, silly as that sounds. People are moving away from cold, flashy, trendy designs. Wegners pieces, while expensive, have a warmth and humanity to them thats missing from, say, LeCorbusier's work. Its the "buy it good/buy it once" mentality. Or maybe I'm just projecting all the reasons why I love it. 🙂
