It is very interesting indeed. Over the last few days I have researched a lot about this type of chair and haven't seen any unauthentic reproductions like it. The nubs on the bottom of the chair have a female bolt hole and the rubber is mounted in between the nub and the base. This is main reason I didn't discredit it as a non-herman miller repro. That being said, I highly doubt that HM would make a transitional design between 90s - 2001 when the chair was reintroduced with polypropylene. The finish is a high gloss which I haven't seen Herman Miller do before either. The other thing that really bothers me is that I haven't seen allen head bolts used on any repros and this one is using them in the rockers and the base. Im puzzled. I was thinking about returning it, but now that i know what the polypropylene chair is like (Saw it at DWR today) I don't think I would want that either.

This chair looks like the repro chair they sell here in Canada. The same finish and bolts are being used. If you want more information to compare your chair, the name of the company is nood. (I hope the mods don't read this as advertising, as I have no intention what-so-ever to be associated with this store. It gives me the cringe every time I pass by)
Hey
"Eames Demetrios, grandson of Charles and Ray Eames and the guardian of their legacy, says, 'DWR has been a great ambassador for the Eames story and DWR hasn't carried knockoff Eames product'"
Design Within Reach DID sell knock-offs of some stuff, right? I don't remember, but it seems quite possible that they were Eames designs, given the number they carry now (I think).
Is it possible that Eames Demetrios said that his way of graciously forgiving DWR for past regressions? I really don't know, I just vaguely remember DWR having a lot of Eames style stuff and that they sold fakes back then.
